I have been waiting for this book to come out foreva since her Lords of Underworld series.  I was beyond excited to see this book came out a day earlier then it’s release today ( did a mini jump with a hooray fist-pump in the air for all of Barnes and Noble). Gena Showalter’s Alien Huntress series truly just keep’s getting better and better.  Devyn is the rakish King from Enslave Me Sweetly, and is a bit of a male slut, which just makes me want him more. Naughty bad boys, gimme sum, sum!  Enter Bride, a female vampire the only one of her kind, abandoned at a young age and left to fend for herself without any knowledge of how her species survives.  After searching for her friend she run’s into none other than our roguish bad boy Devyn.
 
I finished this book in less than a day and liked it so much that I re-read it again. Normally I’m not drawn to male lothario’s, but Showalter does a terrific job of creating a charming, albeit, a bit ho’ish male character.  Devyn has some of the best lines that I’ve read in a long time! It’s not often that I find myself wanting to befriend a fictional character, but you just can’t help yourself. Devyn is just so much fun! I found myself grinning and laughing out loud at his outrageous comments while secretly developing a tiny fantasy crush.

Underground vampire lair.  Who wouldn’t fall in love with a man that battled childhood fears to go underground for the woman he loves?  Sigh.

P.S. Is to too much to ask to look like a Rakan, skin the color of gold… sign me up!
