Blogsphere Week in Review: Google Wave, Blogger Myths & The Apocalypse

in Random Funny 27 Comments

As I’m in-between paranormal romance books this week and the day job is sucking the life out of me, I thought I’d recap on what’s going on in K.C.’s  blogaverse.

Smexybooks Odds and End Post revealed that Karen Marie Moning’s Shadowfever is on Amazon for Pre-Order – Release Date August 31st 2010. Let’s take a moment and geek out for a bit.

Fiction Vixen is giving away 3 FREE books people! I’m hoping she’ll pick me cause I’m so damn cute. Three Day to Dead by Kelly Meding Urban Fantasy

Donna From Fantasy Dreamer’s Ramblings is my 411 go to gal for This Week’s Free Reads and Giveaways

Katiebabs found the WTFckery-est of ‘em all – Cullenism a new  Twilight Cult. I think this is the sign that the apocalypse is near.

I’m the recipient of 2 blog awards from Erotic Romance Reader where she has the most awesomest picture of male bootie cleavage. Sometimes at work I neak a peak just to get me through the day.   Also from Sweet Vernal Zephyr.

Kindle Vixen upsold me to buy a Kindle as I’m “old school” and use my laptop to read ebooks.  –> You can read her mad sales skillz here.

Wicked Lil Pixie wrote a thought provoking post on Myths About Book Blogger. She’s is the creator of the word “sexcitement” which automatically makes her my blogger BFF.

Finally what’s new in Smokin’ Hot Books world? Well, I tried and failed miserably to have Mr. Smokin’ Hot Books read Laid Bare by Laura Dane. And I quote: ” I couldn’t get into it.  I mean for one thing, there was no mention of her cup size. Then he rips her fishnets and ravages her against the wall. That’s an article of clothing. You don’t do that.”  O_o

I also Geeked Out Over Google Wave

Oh and Fiction Vixen and I are in a Smutty Talk Competition with Wendy and Queen B. Me and FV are ubber competitive and we aim to win! I swear I haven’t been this competitive since

Did I miss anything?

  1. Hi KC, I love these round up of links and really enjoyed reading Wicked Lil Pixie’s post. She hit the bulls-eye on many subjects ;) I’m also hoping for the confirmation of KMM Shadowfever release date by Moning herself. I need the focus on when I can grab myself the final Fever story and hopefully a HEA for Mac.

  2. OMFG you tried to get MR. Smokin’ Hot Books to read Laid Bare? BF is afraid to go in the room where all my books are! He thinks they will attack him and than he has to wash his eyes with bleach. LOL

  3. Massive squeeee over Shadowfever.

Dear Mr. Smokin hot – fishnets are meant to be ripped off, and if it is an erotic novel, the cup size is large, trust me.

  4. I’m happy to get you through the day sometimes with my eye candy pics :)
Mr. Smokin’ Hot Books’ reaction makes me wonder if it is in men’s nature to spoil our fun ;) Mr ErotRomReader’s overly calm respons the other day when I jumped up and down telling about winning some awesome books was: ‘Nice, hon, just don’t make me read your soft porn’. As if!!

  5. LOL thanks for the linkage BFF.

I totally voted for you two so you better have won!

And Kindle Vixen is worse than a drug dealer, she’s a user too. I think she should buy us all Kindle’s;)

(Tried to post this from my blackberry but the CAPTCHA doesn’t work on BB’s:( )

  6. I still can’t believe we’re trailing behind on the smut talk thing. We need to kick it up a notch.

Tell Mr. Smokin’ hot, in reading some details are purposely left out. You know, reader fills in the blanks? You like the big boobies, you get the big boobies. :) Oh and fishnets? Don’t you buy those in packs of 5 because they are one time use? I mean really, they just scream rip me to shreds.

Google wave…I’ve heard both good and bad things about it. I can’t wait to give it a try myself.

Shadowfever. OMG. I.CAN.NOT.WAIT. I spend entirely too much time thinking about this series. I really need to move on, but I won’t. :)

  7. @Leontine I can’t wait for Shadowfever! Every time I even think about it I have to put my head between my knees and breathe.

@Susi Yes, I tried to get Mr. Smokin Hot to read Laid Bare and I failed! This is a long term goal and I will keep picking on him.

@Mandi Men, they are such visual creatures.

@ErotRomReader (Janna) you crack me up “soft porn”.

@Natasha (Wicked Lil Pixie) It no workie on blackberry, oh many I”ll have to see what I can do! What do you use for your captcha system?

@Fiction Vixen I really need to stop online stalking Karen Marie Moning’s message board, embarrassing really how much time I spend over there.

  8. OH My Gosh, I am dying just from reading the comments!!!
Jaw drop at Mr. Smokin reading your books! Mr. Hussy at my place just shakes his head and says “you reading about them nakked men again huh.” You got some girl power honey!!!
And Mr. Smokin… Yea, details are left out on purpose.. as far as woman are concerned… noticed that… We get a great description as to the features of our men… **cough cough** very good detail… but women… Well, we know what she carries.. lol!!!

KC thanks for all the heads up honey!!! And I so want that cat!!! TGIF!!!! Hope you have a great weekend!

  9. @Cecile I have thought about giving Mr. Smokin Hot a m/m romance book, but I think that would be pure evilness :) Have a great weekend hon!

  10. I don’t use anything but WP Akismet, WP catches all my spam (maybe 1 good comment a month too, but thats fine).

  11. Don’t you hate it when work sucks the life out of you? I’m impressed that you got Mr. Smokin Hot to even open the book! Hope next week is a better reading week for you.

  12. @Natasha oh so you don’t even have a Captcha system. I use Akismet and Captcha, perhaps that’s a little overboard. I will have to test this out!

  13. I highly recommend Akismet for spam. I used it on my WP blogs and it is extremely accurate!

  14. @Fiction Vixen I heart Akismet I’ve used it ever since I used to get weird comments in Russian O_o…debating about removing the Captcha. Whatcha you think?

@colette I was telling Fiction Vixen the other day that my long term goal is to work for either Borders or Barnes and Noble corporate. This is only for the book discounts :)

  15. When I used Akismet I never used captcha and never had any issues. Well, I have issues but not the spam kind. :)

  16. Same here re: Fiction Vixen. Never had spam sneak through, even twitter pingbacks are stopped and sent via email.

  17. woah now, what is this about me being a pusher?!?! ok well maybe. I wonder if there is some sort of 12 step treatment for Kindleholics??

I only use akismet too, no captcha.

  18. @kindle vixen you make me have Kindle envy, then you upsold me about how much money I would save, then you brought up free kindle books and I just had to have it!

  19. So are you getting one? If you do, you’re going to LOVE it!

  20. and just think about how fast you can get books on new release days?!?! many times i have finished a book at 1 am and have been very glad to be able to get the next in the series 30 seconds later ;)

  21. @Fiction Vixen and Kindle Vixen you girls are terrible. I think Santa will be bringing me a Kindle this year. Unless I was naughty, hubs said that they had a bad girl return policy if I didn’t behave myself :)

  22. Whenever the condition is me being a good girl I always say, “Never mind then.”

  23. Lots of info here for me.. thanks for the heads up and good luck on the smut talk..

    Theres nothing better..

I am also enjoying google wave…

  24. Great roundup! Glad you enjoy my weekly post of free reads and giveaways. :)

This week has also been a crazy one for me at work. I was so tired that I didn’t really go through the Google Reader this past week. I’m still recovering. ;)

2010 has to be a great year because we get the conclusion Mac and Barrons with Shadowfever.

    Congrats on your awards, lady!

  25. I think your Mr. must know my Mr.

  26. but my Mr. can’t wait till I read Laid Bare, which is sitting on my TBR pile right now.

  27. I love the name of your blog. It is also very colorful and appealing. Maybe, as an author, someday I will visit for an interview or review.

    It would be fun!
