Since our recent discovery – alright fine, obsession of Kahl Drago from Game of Thrones. We just can’t get enough of guyliner, long hair, and barbarian conquerers. We’ve been doing some serious research for the cause of some good barbarian lovin’ and here is smokinhot’s list of finger lickin’, warlord lovin, hot barbarian love.

Baby Smokin’ came in to this world on Wednesday the 23rd of March at 8:34 in the morning. His fans waited ever so patiently in the waiting room as having already been kicked out of KC’s delivery room for there being too many people. But we’re not scared of their security guards, or nurse Ratchet; and if they won’t let us in the delivery room then we’ll just take over the waiting room. All 10 of us. And you can take your no food and drink sign and shove it. We dared them to ask us to leave…twice.

Baby Smokin’- your Aunties can’t wait to show your first date the full frontal nudie photos from when you were first born. We can’t wait to spoil you rotten, and when you’re older, send you back to your parents hopped up on sugar and caffeine. We love you Baby Smokin’ and can already tell you’ll be a heart-breaker.

Born: Wednesday the 23rd of March at 8:34am.

8 lbs, 20 inches long.

K.C. is making a speedy recovery and has already taken to walking baby Smokin’ down the halls of the hospital. He already takes after his Daddy, fiery temper and all. She is one smitten kitten and only has eyes for baby Smokin’. She is fiercely protective and not afraid to tell nurse Ratchet to f’-off with her nazi rules about visitors. You. don’t. mess. with. Mamma Smokin!

Simply Irresistible has made me realize that my fast-pace life in Southern California can suck it. You hear me Arnold?

Simply Irresistible is my first experience with Ms. Shalvis (who I embarrassingly referred to as Jill SHAVIS. In writing. On twitter. At least 20 times.) I found myself lost in the fantasy of relishing the dream of living the real ‘Americana’ life and Googled “small coastal towns in the Washington’. My little slice of heaven will include the hubster and I packing all my books and shoes in my (leased) 4 door-turbo- Volkswagen CC and open a restaurant called “What a Crock” where we will prepare ready to serve meals from our new $16.00 crock pot (thank you Target clearance aisle).

Maddie is starting over. After losing her job in LA and escaping a disastrous relationship, she sets out to find a fresh start for herself in her mother’s hometown, Lucky Harbor.

“Are you lost?” he asked.

Was she? Probably she was a little lost mentally, and quite possibly emotionally as well. Not that she’d admit either. “I’m heading to Lucky Harbor Resort.”

He pushed his sunglasses to the top of his head, and be still her heart, he had eyes the exact color of the caramel in the candy bar she’d consumed for lunch. “Lucky Harbor Resort,” he repeated.

“Yes.” But before she could ask why he was baffled about that, his gaze dipped down, and he took in her favorite long-sleeved tee. Reaching out, he picked something off her sleeve.

Half a chip.

He took another off her collarbone, and she broke out in goose bumps — and not the scared kind.

“Plain?”

“Salt and vinegar,” she said, and shook off the crumbs. She’d muster up some mortification — but she’d used up her entire quota when she’d nearly flattened him like a pancake. Not that she cared what he — or any man, for that matter — thought. Because she’d given up men.

Even tall, built, really good-looking, tousled-haired guys with gravely voices and piercing eyes.

Especially them.

What she needed now was an exit plan. So she put her phone to her ear, pretending it was vibrating. “Hello,” she said to no one. “Yes, I’ll be right there.” She smiled, like look at me, so busy, I really have to go, and turning away, she lifted a hand in a wave, still talking into the phone to avoid an awkward good-bye, except–

Her phone rang. And not the pretend kind. Risking a peek at Hot Biker Guy over her shoulder, she found him brows up, looking amused.

“I think you have a real call,” he said, something new in his voice. Possibly more humor, but most likely sheer disbelief that he’d nearly been killed by a socially handicapped LA chick.

Maddie’s desire to rebuild her life is constructed in a way that endears you to her vulnerability without making her a victim. Her self-deprecating humor is charming and sweet and the author doesn’t make the mistake of having the character to find her self-worth in a relationship. Maddie’s relationship with her sister’s and her ability to learn to stand on her own two feet make this is a charming, heart warming story about family, rediscovery and sexy carpenters.

The highlight of the story has to be when Maddie and her sister’s have had too much to drink and she gets the grand idea of looking in the yellow pages for a contractor to help with renovations. She locates an add for a ‘master carpenter’ and then drunk dial’s the aforementioned contractor letting him know that she need’s “mastering” only to find out the next morning that when she opens the door it’s non other than sexy Jax with the motorcycle and tattoos.

You’ll fall in love with Maddie and Jax and the rest of Simply Irresistible’s characters. You can tell how much I’m ‘into a book” when I’m searching for average home prices and rentals in the less populace coastal areas of Washington. Darn you Jill Shalvis!

If your having a sucky day this book is guaranteed to make you smile at least once and warm your little heart.
